Claire and Martin - 14th April 2012 - Battleborough Grange Hotel, Brent Knoll

Claire and Martin got married last Saturday at the ever popular Battleborough Grange Hotel in Brent Knoll. The Bride and her attendants got ready at Claire's Mothers farm which was a lovely backdrop to the hustle and bustle of the getting ready and  for the detail shots I used an old farmhouse table that was brilliantly placed in the back garden. Claire chose a lilac and Cadbury Purple colour scheme which was a perfect Spring choice. Claire said that she thought she may have gone a bit overboard on the scheme as Lilac is her favourite colour, but I very much believe that if you're planning on having a theme at your wedding then run with it....and the banquet room at Battlebrough Grange looked fantastic. There were lots of children involved in Claire and Martin's Big Day including their 16 month old daughter Emily who was one of the best behaved flowergirls I have ever met. Not a peep out of her all day! Her big brother Cameron clearly had the magic touch and she was quite happy to be carried by him for some happy family pictures.

Barbara and Paul - 7th April 2012 - Kingsdon Church and Longsutton Golf Club

It's always lovely to arrive to a relaxed bride and her attendants on the morning of the wedding. Barbara was having her hair and makeup done by friends and everyone was in their pyjamas enjoying a glass of bubbly on the morning of her big day. Paul and their sons appeared just as relaxed when I arrived at the church and the boys were very happy to pose for me while looking very handsome in their matching suits. Barbara and Paul requested a family feel to their photographs so it was the perfect opportunity for me to take lots of photos of their children who played up to the camera brillaintly. Quite a damp afternoon meant that when I took the happy couple out for some pictures on the course at the Longsutton Golf Club we got some great clouds overhead that give lovely atmosphere to their romantic pictures by the lake. I hope Barbara and Paul have a lovely week away and a fantastic second honeymoon with the family later in the year!

Denise and Jamie - 31st March 2012 - St Giles, Bredon and The Daffodil, Cheltenham

It is not very often that I get to photograph such a wide range of venues that Jamie and Denise chose as the backdrops for their big day. We started the morning at the very contemporary Montpellier Chapter in Cheltenham. This was followed by a traditional wedding in the quaint parish church of Bredon and photos in a park back in the town centre. The couple then chose an Art Deco 1920's cinema called the Daffodil  for their reception which required some off camera flash for arty couple shots. I even got some "Abbey Road" and gritty, urban shots (well as gritty and urban as Cheltenham gets!) of the wedding party walking to the park. A great day to be a wedding photographer!

Sara and Adam - 23rd March 2012 - Coombe Lodge, Blagdon

Another gorgeous Coombe Lodge wedding last week. It's always lovely to see the Bride and Groom when they set eyes on one another for the first time and this lovely couple were no exception. Friday saw some of the most unusual but beautiful bouquets created by Kimberleys the Florist who are based in Cadbury Garden Centre. I've never seen Frilly Tulips before but they were really beautiful and looked as if they had been scattered with snowflakes. Sara and Adam had the most stunning weather for their nuptuals and they had an incredible sunset for the time of year so I grabbed the happy couple for a couple of minutes to do some shots outside once they had finished their fabulous meal. A great day to be a wedding photographer! Congratulations Jonesberg's!! ;- )

Naomi and Matt - 17th March 2012 - St Marys, Stanton Drew and Priston Mill

Tara and I were greated very warmly by Naomi and her family as she got ready at her parents home in Stanton Drew, we got some great shots of the girls getting ready aswell as some pictures of the family dog who had a special bow for the occasion. Naomi and Matt had a wonderfully youthful wedding with lots of friends from school and university in attendance. This was definitely reflected in the fact that the Bridal Party were up for making the most of the childrens playground at Priston Mill, we got some great shots of the boys clambering on the cargo net and the girls sitting on the climbing frame. The Bride and Groom are heading off for two weeks travelling around California which I'm rather jealous of! We hope they have a fantastic time away.

Sarah and Joe - 10th March 2012 - Coombe Lodge

This lovely couple had great weather on the morning of their big day so chose to have an alfresco ceremony which was Coombe Lodge's first outdoor wedding of the year. A huge amount of great taste went into the styling of Sarah and Joe's big day. Tara and I both loved the brides gorgeous dress (that was well worth the 40 minutes it took to get her laced into it! ;-) and a  fantastic Coral colour scheme was really refreshing and sure to become very popular when people see the great contrast with splashes of hot pink. Sarah loves colour spot photos so I will make sure to include as of these many as I can in their final selections. I think the couples colour choices will work brilliantly with this effect.

The Arrival Of My Daughter - April Elizabeth Eve

As I'm currently on maternity leave I'm not updating my blog quite so regularly. But I wanted to share the arrival of my daughter April Elizabeth Eve who appeared (after a very long wait) on the 10th January 2012 born at St Michaels Hospital in Bristol. After a 2 week stay in ICU due to an unexpected operation she was able to come home safe and well where she has settled in beautifully. With mummy being who she is, April has already been modelling for me frequently and I thought I would share a few photos from her first studio session. Dont forget I do beautiful baby and family portrait sessions so get in touch to book one in.
