Ellie and Scott - 28th July 2012 - St Peter's Church, Portishead & Cadbury House, Congresbury

My second wedding of the weekend was that of Ellie and Scott who married in St Peter's Church in Portishead followed by a lovely reception in the sunshine at Cadbury House. The happy couple chose my Classic package which is an elegant and traditional style of photography focusing on the key moments of the day along with all the customary couple and group portraits. I started the morning with Scott and his groomsmen at the church as Scott anxiously awaited his bride's arrival. Dot on time Ellie arrived, seeming very relaxed in a vintage car chauffered by Andy from Triggol's Vintage Cars. After the ceremony we used the gardens adjacent to the church for most of the group pictures then dashed off over to Cadbury so the couple could enjoy some time to themselves for some portraits before their canapes and champers with their guests by the gazebo. As Ellie is a teacher she will be making the most of her honeymoon, with additional 4 week holiday tagged onto the end, and starting her life as Mrs Speed in a very relaxed way! Enjoy!

Rachel and Tom - 27th July 2012 - Clevedon Hall, Clevedon

I am at my happiest when I have a lovely couple a and a beautiful venue to photograph, so I was in my element on Friday at the wedding of Rachel and Tom who had a glorious summer wedding at the stunning Clevedon Hall in Clevedon. The couple chose a purple colour scheme with flowers by Kimberleys the Florist and little personalised pots of blackcurrant jam as wedding favours. Incredible food was created by Parsnip Mash the in house caterers at Clevedon Hall. Rachel and Tom were my first true summer wedding of the season, where the sun decided to not only make an appearance, but grace us with its presence all day! Rachel wisely chose to have an adorable second dress for her evening party which she changed into the moment the days formalities were over so she could escape the heat. The outfit change was great for some more pictures of the couple looking more casual while using the architecture of Clevedon Hall as a backdrop. Such a beautiful day, Congratulations Mr and Mrs St John!

Aude and Adam - 13th July 2012 - Lullington Church and Orchardleigh House, Frome

The weather so far this summer can only be described as a complete washout, so you can imagine Aude and Adam's relief that the only heavy rain they experienced on their wedding day was when they got in their car from church to reception! We still had some wonderful moody skies overhead while the formal photographs were taken but the happy couple got to enjoy their magician (who was a huge hit with both their French and English guests....magic clearly transcends all language barriers!) and canapes outside in the beautiful grounds of Orchardleigh House which I'm sure they were really pleased about. I really enjoyed photograhing this lovely pair who were quite up for anything. Photos of the two of them involved Aude lying on a billiard table and me precariously balanced on a sideboard. The results will look brilliant so keep an eye on the Facebook page for more photos soon.

Sara and Andrew - 7th July 2012 - Goldney Hall, Bristol

The stunning Goldney Hall in Clifton was the setting for the wedding of Sara and Andrew on Saturday. It was my first time photographing this beautiful location and I very much hope that I get to return here in the near future. Normally a Halls of Residence for students of Bristol University the old building and gorgeous Orangery are tucked away behind a wall in the heart of Clifton and open for weddings during the summer season. The couple were married in the Mahogany Parlour then headed over to the Orangery for their drinks reception that was followed by a vintage tea party. Sara and Andrew had travelled from Australia for their wedding and I'm sure a number of their Aussie guests had already been warned not to expect great things of the British weather, however it seems the weatherman was certainly smiling on their Big Day. We had a good hour of dry time after the ceremony to capture the group photos, along with some lovely pictures with the Happy Couple and their adorable daughter Bethany. Sara and Andrew will be heading back to Australia next weekend so are combining their honeymoon with seeing family and friends in the UK. I think this is such a lovely way to start their new lives as Mr and Mrs Caldwell.

Sonia and Jake - 3rd July 2012 - Cardiff City Hall and Jaspers Tea Rooms, Llandaff

Sonia and Jake's wedding was adorable. The couple chose to get married on a Tuesday with only their closest friends and family in attendance (a very agreeable 14 guests) at the rather grand Cardiff City Hall followed by the tiny quaint Jaspers Tea Rooms in Llandaff village. For our images the juxtaposition was excellent. Using lots of grand architecture in the centre of Cardiff and plenty of wide angle shots, then lovely natural backdrops like rough stone walls and foliage for the pictures back at the reception venue. Sonia had sent me a number of example images prior to the wedding that were of a quirky, natural, vintage style with soft muted colours. I'm always happy to put these kind of effects onto images and I think the look works really well with their Big Day style. It was great working with Jen again (she has finally finished University!) as we always have a brilliant laugh. Particularly when she tries to be assistant extraordinaire and carry absolutely everything then slips (in what can only be described as a swamp) and ends up in a heap covered in umbrellas, tripods and camera cases. Welcome back Jen!

Amy and Ted - 30th June 2012 - Walton Park Hotel, Clevedon

I really loved being part of Amy and Ted's Wedding. Right from the beginning they were really excited about the images for their Big Day and sent me lots of magazine clippings to give me an idea of the type of thing they liked. The couple chose The Walton Park Hotel in Clevedon near to their home which is really close to the lovely Victorian promenade and pier. We headed down there for some pictures after what was undoubtedly the best Father of The Bride speech I have ever heard. Bob certainly didnt mince his words and his speech involved more embarassment for Ted than even his Bestman Alex threw at him. To give you an idea the speech involved a 'shewee' (if you dont know what this is google it!) an impression of a shrimp eating and a Ricky Gervais dance. All demonstrated (to his credit) by Ted! I was made to feel so welcome by this lovely couple and their guests I hope they have the most wonderful time on their honeymoon in Mexico.
