Not Long Until Baby Time!!

Thought I'd give you a little update and let you know that I am now less than two weeks off my due date. Bump is due to arrive on the 28th December. My husband and I are hugely excited and very much looking forward to little ones arrival.

Dont forget that I am still taking bookings while I'm off on my Maternity leave and with nearly 40 weddings already booked for next year it looks like 2012 will be even busier than 2011. Give me a call if you would like to discuss your requirements.

Catherine and David - 15th October 2011 - St Martins, Fivehead and Fivehead Village Hall

Catherine and David's wedding was my last before I start my maternity leave and it was a lovely wedding to go out on. The beautiful setting of Catherine's parents parish church and the local community hall were the idyllic setting for a country wedding, with the Reception just a few minutes walk from St Martins.
The couple were up for some fun photos with their attendants so I had them running and jumping around the playing fields attached to the reception hall much to their guests amusement. Although neither Catherine or David claimed to be particularly fond of the camera I created some lovely traditional couple portraits at the church and we took the time to do a few more contemporary and intimate shots at the Hall once everyone had enjoyed a glass of bubbly. A classic British wedding and a great day to be a wedding photographer!

Nicola and Alistair - 8th October 2011 - The Longhouse, Bruton

The ultimate Bridal accessory for any bride getting married in the Autumn or Spring has got to be the Wellington Boot. Nicola had some vibrant red spotty ones for her wedding to Alistair which came in very handy as there was a fine mist in the air for most of the day. Practical footwear meant the couple could get lots of funky photos around their Eco friendly venue.
Neither Jen or I had photographed the Longhouse in Bruton before but the lovely light space and plenty of outside covered areas shows what a versatile venue it is even when the weather isn't perfect.
Nic and Alistair included lots of lovely personal touches in their day. The bride had one of the most stunning bouquets I have ever seen. She made it herself from buttons and personal items such as the horseshoes from her parents wedding cake, what a lovely momento to keep from her big day! The speeches included gifts from the Father of the Bride for the happy couple and the bestman had created a replica of a model the groom had made when he was a teenager that went down a treat as Alistair is now an architect.

Shelly and Ross - 1st October 2011 - Folly Farm, Pensford

Shelly and Ross picked one of the most beautiful days this year for their wedding celebrations. No one could have predicted such fantastic weather in October. A venue like Folly Farm is ideal in beautiful sunshine, a courtyard with incredible views, picturesque pond and very old tree are ideal spots for some pictures.
On Saturday I met two of the youngest bestmen I'm likely to come across in my career, Ross chose their two sons for the role, both under four years old. Luckily they werent expected to make a speech, the couple chose to have a really relaxed day without too many of the traditional formalities and this suited the informal venue perfectly.

Vicki and Rich - 24th September 2011 - Corpus Christi, WSM and Lyncombe Lodge, Churchill

I have to say that Vicki and Rich's wedding was one of my very favourite this year. Not unsurprising really as it was two old friends getting married and I knew half of the guests including my own mother and my brother in law who played a very convincing bestman! The Bride and Groom tied the knot in Vicki's family church in Weston-Super-Mare and followed a lovely ceremony with some photos at the school where the couple met. A vintage VW camper van was the perfect transport for a wedding with a theme that incorporated beach locations as table names with seashell decorations and cobalt blue bridesmaids dresses. Congratulations Mr and Mrs Grant I was delighted to be part of your big day!

Bridal Photoshoot with Fredau Hoekstra- 19th September 2011

I thought I would share a few images with you from a photoshoot I took part in on Monday in Exeter. I had a great day shooting with beautiful Dutch model Fredau Hoekstra who was very willing considering the miserable weather and numerous photographers jostiling for position and demanding her attention.

Not every bride will have their wedding on the perfect sunny afternoon that they imagined. But this should in no way affect the fun that you have with your photos on the big day. I shoot in a mixture of reportage and posed styles to capture you and your guests looking your very best.

Alexa and Steve - 17th September 2011 - Deer Park Hall, Worcestershire

Alexa got ready at her parents beautiful home where I got a great picture of the bride on the front doorstep. Apparently she had a picture taken in that exact spot on her first day at school, I hope that her parents really like the 'grown up' version of the image. Alexa and Steve chose Deer Park Hall in Eckington, Worcestershire for their Ceremony and Reception. This gorgeous setting was in no way spoiled by the rain lashing down on the day and luckily had some great space inside for formal photos. The couple and their bridesmaids and ushers braved the weather for some outdoor shots just before the wedding breakfast and I captured some moody skies over the relaxed group photos that they wanted. During the meal the sun broke through the clouds and we were fortunate enough to have a sunset for some quick snaps before the evening celebrations.

Charlotte and Matt - 9th September 2011 - St Peter's, Englishcombe and Limpley Stoke Hotel

Jen and I arrived at Charlotte's mums house to a very organised group of attendants who were just starting on their first glass of bubbly. I first met Charlotte and her Mum Sue at the I Do wedding fayre in Bath where they booked me on the spot and I knew straight away that we would be made to feel very welcome at this Big Day. A traditional English wedding in the quaint parish of Englishcombe was idyllic and a local tradition of tying the gates of the church together and not allowing the guests to leave until sweets and coins had been thrown to the children on the other side of the gate was a lovely touch. Jayne from Englands Finest Cars was chaffeur for the happy couple and I got some lovely shots of Charlotte and Matt in the car before they greeted their guests at the reception.

Georgina and Michael - 4th September 2011 - The Grange, Winterbourne

I do love a man in uniform so I was in for a bit of a treat as there were 8 of them at Georgina and Mike's wedding on Sunday. Mike looked particularly handsome in his navy uniform, but was completely outshone by his stunning new wife Georgina, although she claimed that she never wore dresses Georgina pulled off the blushing Bride perfectly. Gorgeous sunshine over The Grange all afternoon allowed us to use the vast grounds for some romantic pictures of the Happy Couple.

Laurie and Stefan - 31st August 2011 - Coombe Lodge, Blagdon

Laurie and Stefan tied the knot in the ever popular Coombe Lodge and had a wonderful outdoor ceremony followed by peach bellini's on the terrace. The couple provided lawn cricket for their guests to enjoy and Stefan and his four Great Men (choosing between them would just be far too difficult) managed to get in a game before the start of the ceremony. Laurie's choice of a vibrant green colour scheme suited her bridesmaids beautifully and was included in the boys lego cufflinks and novel lego cake that included tiny chefs building the cake on ladders.
